BIOGRAPHIES 2017



Vicki Bentley - Keynote Speaker

Vicki Bentley is the mother of eight daughters, foster mom of over fifty, and grandma to 21 wonderful grandbabies and two great-grandbabies (so far). Vicki has homeschooled 17 children since 1988, alongside her husband Jim, and led a local support group of over 250 families for 14 years. She has served on the executive board and convention committee of the Home Educators Association of Virginia and has addressed state and national conventions, university teacher organizations, and many mothers' groups. She is the author of My Homeschool Planner, Everyday Cooking, The Everyday Family Chore System, Home Education 101: A Mentoring Program for New Homeschoolers, High School 101: Blueprint for Success, and other homeschool and homemaking helps. She currently serves as the Toddlers to Tweens consultant and Group Services director for HSLDA. Vicki has a heart for parents, with practical wisdom and encouraging words.


Dr. David Schroeder - President of Pillar College

Church, missions and Christian higher education have been the arenas of Dr. Schroeder’s ministry since the mid 70’s. In August of 2007, he was appointed President of Pillar College (formerly Somerset Christian College).

A graduate of Nyack College, Manhattanville College, New York Theological Seminary and New York University, Dr. Schroeder served churches in New York, New Jersey, and England. On the missional front, he has served overseas and at home with the Christian and Missionary Alliance, Trans World Radio and International Teams, and continues preaching ministries in Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Europe.

In Christ-centered higher education, David’s first passion, he has served as director for Higher Education for the C&MA, and has been president of Philadelphia Theological Seminary, Nyack College and Alliance Theological Seminary, and Pillar College. During his twelve years at Nyack, the college and seminary grew from 700 to 3100 students, expanded to six extension sites and developed ten new graduate programs. But more importantly, thousands of students were trained to be “worshipping warriors.”

Through a ministry he began in 1986 known as MasterWorks, David enjoys speaking at retreats and seminars for men, using some of the ten books he has written. Betzi and David have been married for more than four decades, have raised three children and are spoiling eight grandchildren.


Rhea Perry - Educating for Success

Rhea Perry has educated her 7 children since 1987 and now operates a successful online business. Two of her sons own their own companies and one brought his dad home from corporate America in just 3 years. An award-winning Internet business owner and widow, Rhea loves sharing the secrets her family has learned about how to educate young people to serve God with their specific gifts to build financial freedom through home business.


Joe Hudicka -

Joe Hudicka is an entrepreneur, big data pioneer, author, speaker, and expert in information architecture and business intelligence. And clearly, the innovation gene is strong in the Hudicka family. Significant buzz has formed around his family's business, Productive Play, LLC which features his children's signature product, the board game Launch!, which teaching children the language of business and helps them launch their very own innovation mindset. Together, Joe, his wife Lora, and their kids Joey and Heidi, deliver live innovation and entrepreneurial fun and learning events for schools, community organizations and corporations.




Loyla Louvis - Mothers in Training

She is a certified Life/Parenting Coach from the American Academy of Christian Counselors, a public speaker, homeschooling mom of four children and teacher to homeschooled children in the tri-state area for over 15 years. She is the founder of Mothers In Training, LLC, have been in practice for 7 years, and currently presenting weekly workshops at Babies R' Us stores located in Paramus, Secaucus and Totowa, speaking at various churches, schools, libraries, town events, local moms' groups and seeing clients in my Montclair office or by SKYPE. She resides in Wayne, NJ with my husband of 22 years and spend my free time studying Scripture, as I am an avid student of the Word. National Missions work is second only to serving my family and community for the past 7 years.


Andrea Thorpe - Embracinig Him, Homeschool Mom

Andrea Thorpe is a Christian, life long Jersey girl, blessed wife, and mother of three daughters, ages 12, 10, and 5. Prior to becoming a homeschooling mom, Andrea earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, an elementary teaching certificate, and a Master’s degree in Student Personnel Services. During her time in public education, Andrea worked as a classroom teacher and guidance counselor and was recognized as Teacher of the Year. Throughout her eight years of homeschooling, Andrea has enjoyed teaching her lively trio from the comfort of home. She is an active member in her local homeschool community and has taught several classes in homeschool cooperatives. Andrea currently serves on the board of a local homeschool support group. Andrea has written homeschooling articles for Family Magazine, a publication of Home Educating Family Association (HEDUA) and has written articles for other homeschooling websites as well. She maintains a personal blog titled Embracing Him, where she writes about homeschooling, faith, and family. When not homeschooling or working at her computer, Andrea can be found hanging out with friends and family, serving in the children’s ministries at her church, cheering loudly at soccer games, cooking up great dishes in the kitchen, and zipping down the highway in her well-loved minivan.


Stephen Chudkowski - Chiropractor

Dr. Steve has been serving the community as a doctor of chiropractic for 20 years. He owns Solutions Chiropractic Center in Morganville, NJ. In addition to providing spinal care, he specialize in auto-immune disorders, provides comprehensive nutritional counseling, and is a certified whiplash specialist. He and his wife, Carrie, were married in 1998 and began homeschooling their children from pre-school. Dr. Steve has taught high school sciences, Bible Study and apologetics at CREATE Homeschool Co-op for five years, where his wife teaches art. In addition to nurturing a passion for homeschooling, he and his family have conducted short-term missionary trips to Uganda for eight years, sharing the Gospel and providing practical needs there. The Chudkowskis have called Calvary Chapel Old Bridge their home since 997, where they serve in ministry together.
