Do NOT contact Shawnee Mountain.
Do I have to be a
homeschooler to participate? Family and
friends of homeschoolers may also participate if registering along with
a homeschool family.
What happens after I send
in my payment? You will receive an
emailed receipt that you should bring with you. If you have
not received a receipt within 7 days, email
winterfun@enochnj.org.
You will also receive instructions on how to pre-order your
ski/snowboarding equipment so it will be waiting for you on the day you
arrive.
What about helmets?
Helmets are always recommended for
safety. You may purchase helmets at any sporting goods store.
Helmet rentals are available at retail prices at Shawnee
Mountain. Go to shawneemt.com
If I’m
skiing/snowboarding for multiple days, where can I leave my
equipment? Guests renting Shawnee Mountain
equipment on a
multi-day basis may store their equipment overnight and at no-charge in
their “ski-check” facility.
If I try snowboarding and
don’t like it, can I switch to
skiing? You may switch if you’ve given up on
snowboarding but
you may not switch back and forth multiple times. You may not
switch from skiing to snowboarding.
What should I do when I
arrive? There will be ENOCH signs
directing you to the place in the lodge where you will be greeted by
ENOCH board members who will give you your lift tickets.
Don’t forget your receipt. If anyone in your family is taking
a lesson, it’s best to arrive no less than (1) hour prior to the lesson
start time.
What about snowtubing?
Snow tubing will be available on a
retail basis. Go to shawneemt.com for prices.
What about my
preschoolers and babies?
Babysitting service is available during daytime hours on a walk-in
basis. Their SKIwee children’s learning program is
available in half-day sessions on a reservation basis. The
SKIwee program caters to kids ages 4-6. Go to shawneemt.com
Is there internet access
in the lodge? Shawnee Mountain has
wireless internet access available for guests. A small number
of wall outlets are available for plug-in (battery power is preferred).
What’s the best way to
meet other homeschoolers while we’re
there? Shawnee Mountain will make available the
back room of
the Hickory Licks Restaurant for the purpose of meeting, gathering and
networking of NJ Homeschoolers from 7:00PM – 10:00PM on selected
evenings.
What if I make this
purchase and someone in the family is sick that
week and can’t come? You will receive absentee
vouchers
(mid-week, non-holiday only, expires 3/14/2010) for anyone who has done
NO skiing during the designated days (Jan 27-29). Once you
begin to use your lift tickets you will not receive vouchers.
