MAY 2012
From the President’s Desk
Our 22nd Annual Convention is May
18-19, 2012! Register Today!
Dear Friends,
The convention is just around the corner! Get ready! Check
out
the list of exhibitors on our website so you can plan on who you want
to stop by.
and look over the workshops schedule to see which one that you want to
make sure you attend. Don't forget you can buy CDs of those
you
miss. We have an additional workshop that will be presented
at
lunch time: Mike Snavely from Mission: Imperative!, will be presenting,
The Horror of the Flood.,
in the Grand Ballroom. Check out the updated,
Exhibitor List on ENOCH’s website.
Remember you can still register
on-line until Friday, May 11th and
if you prefer to
mail
in your registration it must be postmarked by that
date.
Registering before the convention saves time when you arrive at the
convention.
There is still room in the Children’s Program which can be done either
on-line
or through the
mail. There are seven
great session by The Knight
Lights. There is special pricing this year for either
multiple
sessions and for more than one child.
A few thoughts on preparing yourself for the Convention. Save
yourself money and pack a lunch, you eat out on the grass near the
front entrance or in your vehicle. Please do not bring you
own
food to eat at the Food Court tables. Just a word about the
Food
Court, we received several comments on last year’s surveys in regards
to the prices charged at the Food Court. ENOCH has no control
over
the prices charged at the Food Court; the concession company is
contracted by the Expo Center and not ENOCH.
There is still time to sign up to volunteer. If you have
already
registered
click here to go to the volunteer
sign-up page. You
need to register first before you can volunteer.
Please continue to pray for the ENOCH Board, Convention Staff and all
those who volunteer year round who have put many hours into preparing
for this year’s convention. When you come to the convention
make
sure that you stop by at the ENOCH Booth and say hello. We would love
to meet you. We will be around the convention hall as well as at the
ENOCH booth.
See you at the convention.

A WORD FROM OUR GUEST
SPEAKERS ....
Watch
the Video
of Michael Donnelly
Watch the
video
of Michael Donnelly as he shares how he made his decision to homeschool
his children and how his decision was proven correct as he watched his
children learn, develop and mature. He then describes some of
his most
rewarding legal victories defending homeschool families. Mike
will be
giving three workshops during this year's convention.
Mike serves as staff attorney for member affairs in the states of
Colorado, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Ohio,
Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, Wyoming, the District of Columbia. As
director of international relations he oversees HSLDA’s support of
persecuted homeschoolers in the Federal Republic of Germany and
coordinates support to encourage greater freedom for homeschoolers all
over the world. Mike is an adjunct professor of government at Patrick
Henry College where he teaches constitutional law.

the cause: Although
homeschooling is recognized in every state, HSLDA receives phone calls
each day
from families whose right to homeschool is being challenged or
discriminated
against by school officials, social workers, employers, colleges, armed
services recruitment officers, and government bureaucrats. The
customizable
nature of homeschooling defies the educational elite’s ideal of
mandatory,
uniform indoctrination—making parental choice in education a target for
elimination. By joining HSLDA, you are supporting families

“Simplifying
Homeschool – Letting God Lead Your Homeschool”
Based
on Matthew 6:33, we will discuss why seeking first His righteousness
will ensure our homeschool success. Writing out goals for homeschool, a
family mission statement, and a verse to cling to for your family are
part of this process. I believe that if God called you to homeschool,
He wants to lead your homeschool! In this workshop Karen will
help you get a handle on your homeschool, by simplifying getting rid of
the clutter that can physically and mentally disrupt our homeschool.
More importantly, getting rid of anything that distracts us from
putting God first which can hinder our efforts in our homeschools. God
must be our first priority! Simplifying homeschool is about keeping our
focus on God and why we chose to homeschool in the first place.
Learning how to get rid of distractions whether they be physical,
mental, or spiritual, and prioritize our homeschools so that we can
glorify God in all that we do!”
