JUNE - 2018 NEWSLETTER

Description: note

Greetings from the President’s desk;

God bless you and keep you all

Happy End of School Year everyone!  After an almost non existing Spring, we are finally experiencing much better temperatures to enjoy the great outdoors.  I hope you had a very successful homeschooling year!  Do not stress over things undone.  As you are winding down this school year, focus on all the accomplishments, character development, great memories, laughter, activities, great family adventures and great times of bonding.  Trust in the Lord for the results of all your labors.  The Lord has promised that when we invest and sew into that we will reap a bountiful harvest!  So do not FEAR!

I truly hope you took advantage of the great opportunity to attend the CHAP Convention which would have encouraged and given you great anticipation and excitement as you plan for next homeschooling year.  It is always a refreshing feeling starting a brand New Homeschooling Year.  There are so very many options, methods and opportunities available to us

My life has been wrapped up in many preparations for our son’s wedding in a week!   As I pray for God’s blessing on my son and very soon daughter-In-Law’s marriage, I extend those Blessings to you and your families.

God bless you and keep you all.

ENCOURAGING WORDS

A Story of Miracles by a 7th-grader

The staff at Inspire 21 was extremely pleased to receive this inspirational story about miracles from a remarkable 7th-grader. We hope you enjoy her story as much as we did.
______________

By Marta C., 7th-grader

When I was only 18 months old, I was diagnosed with lead poisoning. I was supposed to end up in the hospital in a wheelchair.

My parents told me that the day I was brought into the hospital, my face was yellow and I wouldn't stop crying. The doctor said it was permanent. But in just one month, I
went back to the doctor, and he said the lead poisoning was completely gone. My parents had prayed for me throughout the whole month, hoping it would go away.

My dad always drank. My older brother and I always got scared of him when he came home drunk. One day, my dad had to go to the hospital because he drank too much. He was in the hospital for one month, and I prayed every day for him to get better. My dad was in pain and agony, and no medicine made him feel better. By the time my dad was able to come home, the doctor said he had one year to live. My dad is now 52, and it has been six years. My dad stopped drinking when I got into second grade. It was a miracle. Ever since, my dad never drank again.

The doctor told me 11 years ago that I would be in a wheelchair, unable to talk, see, move or do anything. Yet in second grade, I was entered in a Talented Artist Program; in fifth grade, I was in honors classes; in sixth grade I was in a play and on two softball teams; and in seventh grade, I am in a play, am president of my class, and I am in a Documentary Film Club.

I thank God every day for the blessings he gave me. He is what motivates me and inspires me every day. He inspires me to be the best I can. My parents' love for me also inspires me to be the best of the best. I love God and my family.

Are you thankful today for the very many blessings from above?  Are you thankful for your family – your loved ones and good friendships and relationships with the family of God?  Yeeeesssss…

Only what is done for Christ will last for all eternity!

THE BIBLE

We believe that the Bible is the inerrant, inspired word of God - the final authority for all truth and practice. In other words, it is God’s handbook for life. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV) tells us, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

NEEDED LEGISLATIVE LIAISON

We are looking for a person or two who would serve as a liaison for HSLDA and ENOCH in serving the homeschool community and the politicians in Trenton. Liaison should possess knowledge in the legislative process in New Jersey, including how a bill is introduced, the hearing and voting requirements of the N.J. Assembly and Senate, as well as the governor’s final approval. Liaison must also be familiar with the regulatory agencies and law in New Jersey where such agencies or laws could have an impact on home education. These include the Department of Education, the Division of Family Services, and the Child Advocate’s Office. Other responsibilities would include: interfacing with HSLDA regarding legal threats to homeschooling freedoms in New Jersey; communicate to the ENOCH board regarding any local, state, national or international threats to homeschooling freedoms; communicate in writing – clearly outlining any threat to home education along with any recommended actions; communicate orally – to testify at Senate or Assembly hearings, and as needed with regulatory agencies; to recommend to the ENOCH board how and what to communicate to the public, including the press, regarding home education and any bills or laws related to homeschooling in New Jersey.  Contact David West at (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
