March 2017 Newlsetter

March - 2017 NEWSLETTER

Greetings from the President’s desk;

Our Convention (Early Bird) Registration has been open since February 1st, with little or no activity. We, the ENOCH BOARD, have some hard and serious decisions to make by the second week of March (10 days), including whether or not we shall proceed with this year’s annual convention.

I am aware that the focus for most of you attending the conference is that the Vendors are very important, and treat the workshops as a secondary concern and others come primarily for used books/curriculums. But, the conference is so much more than just those things… Due to recently scheduled unforeseen date conflicts with other state conferences, we are encountering difficulty in attracting a lot of the Vendors you may have desired. And as for attendees, as the saying goes “people make time to do the things they really want to do”, yes life is busy for us all… We all have 24 hours a day and focus on what is important for us and our families and work towards achieving those goals…

Today, as I am writing this note to you, we have received another two vendor registrations, bringing it to a current grand total of 11 total vendors. We are still working with other vendors to get their confirmation. And as you know, people tend to procrastinate in so many areas and at times wait till last minute to decide on attending an event… If you were planning on attending ENOCH’s conference do not delaying registering So, based on the numbers we will be making our final, prayerful, decision. The Annual ENOCH Conference is a place of; encouragement, refreshment, inspiration, gleaning of ideas, assistance, and a reminder of why it is you chose to homeschool in the first place… And we do want to thank all of those who have been so very faithful thru the years in supporting this ministry with your time, finances and prayers. We really do have a fantastic program of speakers set up and an awesome children’s program.

We ask if you would please spread the word. We need to add to the attendee count to make it worth the vendor’s time and energy to register. We are saddened that there is a big possibility that we may have to cancel our ENOCH annual conference this year, if the attendee numbers do not increase before the date of our decision in ten days. We wanted to give you a heads up before – so you would be aware of the circumstances when we do make our decision.

ENOCH of NJ is a completely voluntary run organization, for the sole purpose of serving the homeschoolers of NJ. We have faced many challenges and struggles in the past, and as before, we are trusting God to write the final chapter, again. Unlike the many surrounding states who have very stringent regulations for their homeschool communities, currently NJ has very little restrictions… But, it has come with many battles along the way, with much vigilance, with many grass root sharing that have blocked many bills and laws which have tried to regulate our state, by serial organizations and ENOCH who uphold and represent the homeschooling families of New Jersey and working with other state leaders similar to ENOCH. ___________________________________________________

ENOCH CONVENTION 2017 THEME: Be Bold, Strong and VERY Courageous.
Deuteronomy 31:6 - NLT

So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” ___________________________________________________

Reminder, there will be continual and perpetual attacks to our homeschooling community in the future by different sources – so, we must continue to be alert, informed and watchful as not lose our homeschooling freedoms and privileges. All we do for ENOCH is for His glory and Kingdom that we serve the Homeschooling families of our state. Our God is ever faithful and is the God of miracles….

The Lord God Almighty is with us! By His Grace may we be with in sync with His will and grace....

“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, this is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.”
Zechariah 4:6 KJV

As of right now - We are looking forward to an encouraging and uplifting time, on April 22, 2017, for New and Seasoned Homeschooler alike.

Come And Be Refreshed In Your Spirit!!

Come And Be Refreshed In Your Purpose!!

Please keep ENOCH in your prayers.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

May God Bless You Richly!

26 Guards

Have you ever felt the urge to pray for someone and then just put it on a list and said, "I'll pray for them later?" Or, has anyone ever called you and said, "I need you to pray for me, I have this need?" Read this story - may it change the way that you think about prayer and also the way you pray. You will be blessed by this.

A missionary on furlough told this story while visiting his home church in Michigan. "While serving at a small field hospital in Africa, every two weeks I traveled by bicycle through the jungle to a nearby city for supplies. This was a journey of two days and required camping overnight at the halfway point.

On one of these journeys, I arrived in the city where I planned to collect money from a bank, purchase medicine and supplies, and then begin my two-day journey back to the field hospital. Upon arrival in the city, I observed two men fighting, one of whom had been seriously injured. I treated him for his injuries and at the same time talked to him about the Lord.

I then traveled two days, camping overnight, and arrived home without incident.

Two weeks later I repeated my journey. Upon arriving in the city, I was approached by the young man I had treated. He told me that he had known I carried money and medicines. He said, "Some friends and I followed you into the jungle, knowing you would camp overnight. We planned to kill you and take your money and drugs. But just as we were about to move into your camp, we saw that you were surrounded by 26 armed guards. At this I laughed and said that I was certainly all alone in that jungle campsite. The young man pressed the point, however, and said, "No sir, I was not the only person to see the guards. My five friends also saw them, and we all counted them. It was because of those guards that we were afraid and left you alone."

At this point in the sermon, one of the men in the congregation jumped to his feet and interrupted the missionary and asked if he could tell him the exact day this happened. The missionary told the congregation the date, and the man who interrupted told him this story: "On the night of your incident in Africa, it was morning here and I was preparing to go play golf. I was about to putt when I felt the urge to pray for you. In fact, the urging of the Lord was so strong, I called men in this church to meet with me here in the sanctuary to pray for you. Would all of those men who met with me on that day stand up?" The men who had met together to pray that day stood up.

The missionary wasn't concerned with who they were, he was too busy counting how many men he saw. There were 26.

This story is an incredible example of how the Spirit of the Lord moves in mysterious ways. If you ever hear such prodding, go along with it.

Nothing is ever hurt by prayer except the gates of hell. I encourage you to share this story with as many people as you know. If we all take it to heart, we can turn this world toward God once again. As the above true story clearly illustrates, "with God, all things are possible" - and more importantly, how God hears and answers the prayers of the faithful.

After you read this, please pass it on and give God thanks for the beautiful gift of your faith, for the powerful gift of prayer, and for the many miracles He works in your own daily life.

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inerrant, inspired word of God—the final authority for all truth and practice. In other words, it is God’s handbook for life. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV) tells us, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

We are looking for a person or two who would serve as a liaison for HSLDA and ENOCH in serving the homeschool community and the politicians in Trenton. Liaison should possess knowledge in the legislative process in New Jersey, including how a bill is introduced, the hearing and voting requirements of the N.J. Assembly and Senate, as well as the governor’s final approval. Liaison must also be familiar with the regulatory agencies and law in New Jersey where such agencies or laws could have an impact on home education. These include the Department of Education, the Division of Family Services, and the Child Advocate’s Office. Other responsibilities would include: interfacing with HSLDA regarding legal threats to homeschooling freedoms in New Jersey; communicate to the ENOCH board regarding any local, state, national or international threats to homeschooling freedoms; communicate in writing – clearly outlining any threat to home education along with any recommended actions; communicate orally – to testify at Senate or Assembly hearings, and as needed with regulatory agencies; to recommend to the ENOCH board how and what to communicate to the public, including the press, regarding home education and any bills or laws related to homeschooling in New Jersey.
