Dear Friends,
What interesting things did you do this summer? Our family was busy. My wife, oldest daughter and I did volunteer work at a Christian camp in the Adirondacks of New York State, and not all at the same time. I made four trips, some to drive kids up or back, but two times to be the head cook. Even though it was for only five days, cooking for 120 to 150 people, it was a great experience. With the amount of traveling we did up and down the NY Thruway, you think they would give us a frequent driver discount. Let us know of the interesting things that you did this summer. Send an e-mail to me at (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) with a written description of what you did. We will pick the most interesting one and send you a 2012 MP3 set and we will put what you did in next month’s e-newsletter.
Those long summer days are over and now “school” is starting. My youngest is already going full blast on her new Pre-Algebra curriculum and loves it (yea!). As homeschooling parents we know school never ends, even for the summer. There are always those opportunities to learn something new or see something new.
Our Career and College Fair has been cancelled due to lack of interest and participation. It was very disheartening for us as an organization. We were unable to fill key volunteer positions needed. Thank you for those who showed an interest. We are sorry about the inconvenience.
We are constantly working on our convention plans. If there is a speaker you think would be of interest or a change that we should consider, please email me directly. When we hear from families who attend they give a different perspective than those working on the inside.
For up to date information, you can always follow us on Facebook. We are constantly giving out information and updates there.
Thank you all for your support. This year more than ever we greatly appreciate it.
God bless,
Rich Millward
President
